Day # 8: An ancient look at Kiev. Yesterday, Marianna, a girl from one of my English classes and who came to photo club, took me to Lavara. It is an area in Kiev that has several old churches. We didn't get to spend a whole lot of time there due to the sun going down and the bitter cold. But it was beautiful. I would like to go back and take more pictures. There is so much history here. Apparently there are catacombs that you can go through under one of 
the churches. Kind of creepy, but really interesting. We'll see if I'm ever brave enough to visit. But I really enjoyed spending time getting to know Marianna and listening to her tell the history behind some of the Churches. Then we found some steeples, you know, just lying around.
